"Pour 668" Animated Short Film by Patrick Smith

Synopsis:

You are free to choose.. as long as you choose red or orange. Mixing will simply not be tolerated.

“Pour 668” is a sequel to my 2018 film “Pour 585”.. It’s another heavily metaphorical film, this time a powerful machine inflicts punishment for mixing liquids.. stay in your lane or you will be shattered.

Each glass will grow with tribal enlightenment. But one glass, a curious fellow with a spring in his step, has the tenacity to mix two different liquids. At first this proves empowering as he whips and morphs himself to heights the others have not reached.. but the victory is short lived. The Machine reacts in alarm, and destroys the nuanced glass with brutality and precision. When the dust settles, the Machine gets back to the cycle of filling up glasses, but never mixing contents. I made this film to express my personal tendencies to share certain opinions of people that are opposed to one another. Both sides will not tolerate this and you will be left alone with your nuanced beliefs.

For the first time ever, I’m going to premiere my new film directly to Youtube instead of a film festival. Just an experiment. So hope you can tune in on Saturday November 6 2021, 10am EST, for a real time premiere.
